healthy chocolate cake?

There is something strangely fascinating about turning a decadent dessert like chocolate cake into a healthier treat. Of course, for me it is like buyer's remorse. As soon as the baking and cooling is complete I want to dig in and be richly satisfied, I want each bite to hit the sugar nerves in my brain and the chocolate desires in my heart.

a homemade life

The other day I was told that a certain someone wanted to know whether I went to business school only to end up mastering key lime pie recipes?
Well, yes thank you for your concern.
I believe that question could only come from a) someone too lazy to try cooking or b) someone that does not understand what happens in a kitchen.

Here goes my results of a healthy blueberry muffin: dismal.
The real disappointment is that I wanted to make them for Trevor, seeing as he likes blueberry muffins. If I were making them for me, they would have been peanut butter-chocolate-banana muffins with a cream cheese filling. Yeah baby, I have fantasies of muffins that will never see the light of an oven.

Healthy Blueberries Muffins

We had a late lunch, as in 4pm and it lasted till 6, so cooking dinner or going somewhere fantastic (it is Miami Spice) is slightly out of the question. I am starting to feel like our life revolves around when, where, and what we are eating. We may not get around to three meals a day, but we definitely obsess over food and beverage in our home. It's pathetic really.

jambalaya and street fights

Wednesday night seemed like the perfect themed dinner and a movie night. I would make jambalaya and turn on Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood. It is obviously not a co-ed movie, but there is always this unrealistic hope that Trevor will in fact like the same chick-flick movies I do, it never works.

Julie and Julia

I hate going to the movies. I don't mind renting, but I do not go to the movies often. It is like torture, I dread it like a fat kid dreads P.E.

I must have died of thirst in a formal life. As I sit down to post, I realize there are six cups at my desk (3 mugs, 3 tumblers) all from this morning. One would think I am high-maintenance, one would be correct.
And today, in all my thirst needs, I developed a new recipe for my kitchen, and Bentley helped too.
